About City-REDI
City-REDI is a leading research institute based at the University of Birmingham, dedicated to understanding and improving city and regional economies. Our work is grounded in interdisciplinary research and close collaboration with policymakers, businesses, and communities. We aim to support inclusive, sustainable, and evidence-based economic growth across the UK and beyond.
The Associate Opportunity
As a City-REDI Associate you will join a vibrant community of researchers and policy experts working on some of the most pressing challenges facing cities and regions today. Associates will be able to work on a range of externally funded projects, not limited to but including the Local Policy Innovation Partnership Strategic Co-ordinating Hub. We have worked on over 200 projects in the last 10 years, ranging from £4.6m from Research England to contract research in the region of £30,000 to £300,000. Being a City-REDI associate will enable you to work on projects with us into the future. Developing our Research Associate Network will help us deliver our 10-year strategy and expand our impactful work.
Associates contribute to and benefit from:
- Collaborative Research: Engage in joint projects with City-REDI staff and partners.
- Policy Engagement: Translate research into actionable insights for local and national policymakers.
- Knowledge Exchange: Share expertise through seminars, blogs, and public engagement.
- Professional Development: Access mentoring, training, and networking opportunities.
We welcome expressions of interest from individuals at all career stages and from a range of disciplines, including (but not limited to) economics, geography, public policy, sociology, and urban studies.
