Oxford Three Faiths Encounter Week

Published: Posted on

We successfully completed our first Oxford Three Faiths Week.  An opportunity for Christians, Muslims and Jews, to meet each other and to go ‘Beyond the Headlines.’

It’s been stimulating, inspiring, moving, transformative, deepened understanding…and the list goes on. Participants were drawn from across the United Kingdom (one from Zambia) to articulate their experiences over the week. The first four days included presentations from Revd Dr Liz Carmichael, Charlotte The Rev’d Bannister-Parker, Professor Ruth Harris, Shasta Aziz, Michael Pinto-Duschinsky (Holocaust Survivor), Rabbi Dr Michael Hilton, Mike Haines, Ahmad Nawaz (Survivor, Peshawar School attack), Milly Sinclair, Mike Wooldridge (BBC, International Correspondent) and Imam Monawar Hussain.

Each day began with a morning meditation session from each of the three faiths and visits were made to Central Oxford Mosque, Oxford Jewish Congregation Synagogue and The University Church, Oxford.

Thank you to all the participants for making this such a special occasion.
