  • Pei-Yu Yuan presented “Public procurement and innovation ‘missions'” at The Productivity Institute in-house meeting on 2nd  November 2022.
  • Annum Rafique  presented at the Smart Energy – An Energy System for the 21st Century” at ‘Midlands Engine Research Partnership‘ meeting and at the ‘Midlands Engine Intelligence Committee’ meeting on 10th November 2022.
  • A number of City-REDI staff presented at the Regional Studies Association Winter conference on 10th-11th November. Including:
    • Anne Green, Abigail Taylor, Hannes Read and Chris Millward presented ‘The role of universities and stakeholders in local skills ecosystems: insights from international case studies’.
    • Anne Green and Rebecca Riley presented ‘The Future Business District: Responding to Covid-19’.

  • Anne Green presented on ‘Good Work, the Covid-19 Crisis and its aftermath’ at the University of Birmingham Work Inclusivity Research Centre event at the Midlands Arts Centre on 23 November 2022.
  • Rebecca Riley presented at the launch of the Birmingham City Observatory on 23 November 2022.
  • Matt Lyons led a seminar on “Input-output approaches to assessing the creative industries” for the Creative Industries Policy and Evidence Centre seminar series. 24th November
  • Simon Collinson presented to the All Party Parliamentary Universities Group at the House of Lords this evening on the role of universities in stimulating innovation and inclusive economic growth in regions on 29th November 2022.
  • Carolin Ioramashvili is presenting at the Commissioner’s seminar on cohesion policy with EU commissioner Elisa Ferreira on 1 December 2022. The title of the seminar is “Differentiated approaches to inclusive, responsible and sustainable innovation”

  • A new report, co-authored by the Midlands Engine partnership, Siemens and the University of Birmingham (The Energy Institute and City-REDI) was published on 9th November 2022 called, “Smart Energy – An Energy System for the 21st Century”.
  • Kostas Kollydas, Simon Collinson and Anne Green contributed a section to the National Centre for Universities and Business annual report “State of the Relationship 2022” called “ Economic growth: the importance of R&D skills and workforce diversity.
