Guest Post Guidelines

We are always happy to consider guest posts for the CLiC Dickens Blog.

  • Theme

Previous guest posts have covered a variety of topics ranging from using CLiC in teaching and research to wider cultural themes related to digital humanities, corpus stylistics, 19th century fiction and culture – and literature from other periods if there’s a link through the theme or methodology. If you have an idea for a new post please contact us via email.

  • Length

The length of the post will depend on the topic and the number of media that are embedded (e.g. photos, videos, handouts). As a rule of thumb, a post should be between around 500 – 1200 words so that it can provide enough substance but is still relatively “short and sweet”.

  • Media

Please ensure that you have the permission to share the images (and other media) that you want to include in your blog post. If you have an idea of what type of media to include but don’t know where to find them, we might be able to help.

  • Contributor account

We will generally ask you to create a contributor account for this WordPress blog. This ensures that your name is displayed as the author along with a little bio blurb that you provide.

We can still help you with the final formatting of the post.
